A collection of resources, from the SYCD Primary CD, designed to develop and reinforce primary school pupils' understanding of the living world around them. The major resources are: *Growing pains - a drama script for older primary pupils, which explores what plants need in order to grow. *I scream for ice cream! - the Science Across the World project provides a forum for students aged 10 to 17 years to exchange facts and opinions with students in other countries. Eating and Drinking Around the World is a new topic suited to younger pupils. *Slugs - teachers' notes and activities to provide children with opportunities to collect, observe and find out about slugs, and to consider alternatives to chemical pest control. *I have ... who has? - a revision game which helps children to recognise the scientific words that they should know, and use correctly in context, by the age of eleven. *Look around you - a series of short activities designed to help children develop their observation skills in the outside classroom. *Life is loopy - a quick game, involving the whole class, that reinforces pupils' knowledge across many aspects of life and living processes. *'Cool and fun' - poems written by primary children, selected from the ASE publication Science is Like a Tub of Ice Cream - Cool and Fun.
