Nuffield Chemistry: Stage III Background Books
The Nuffield Chemistry Background Books appeared as a series of colourful, highly illustrated, short readers to amplify and extend work done in class. Some of the books described applications of chemistry, others were historical while a few focused on particular chemical ideas.

This collection includes 5 'extra' Background Books in addition to the 9 that were written to fit closely with the content of Stage III of the Sample Scheme. These readers were written for students in the age range 15-16. Some of the details are now out of date because these readers were published in the 1960s but the historical sections are still interesting.
