Climate Change Adaptation - Factsheet for Children and Young People

This fact sheet, from the Climate Change Committee, gives pupils information about climate change in an informative, accessible and sensitive way.  It discusses the difference between climate and weather and why the Earth's climate is changing, and points out to pupils that it is OK to feel anxious about this issue.  It briefly talks about how greenhouse emissions can be reduced, but the main focus of the information is climate change adaptation which is how places, people and environments can be changed to cope with the challenges that a change in climate will bring.

It looks at how buildings can be improved and what can be done to cope with a greater risk of flooding and higher temperatures from the point of view of people and nature. Finally, it tells pupils where to get more information and get involved with the fight against climate change.

More information about the work of the Climate Change Committee can be found on their website.
