Imagineering
The Imagineering Initiative started in Keighley, West Yorkshire, in April 1990 with nine schools from all phases of education. A programme was desinged to introduce the teachers to industrial environments and to give them time to think about their relevance to the technology curriculum. Training sessions were organised to consider the resources necessary to support good technological educational experience.
The text of this report is drawn directly from recorded experience. It is what was said by teachers, pupils, employers, engineers and members of the steering group. They examined principles of control, different types of assembly kits and models and various published resources materials. The topics included:
- Differentiation
- Learning Environment
- Equality of opportunity
- Access to learning situations through games, simulations and role play
- Planning for visits out of school
- Project management and organisation.
